About our owner's
Kristie Clark, FIST K9
Kristie Clark is a co-owner of FIST K9 Detection, LLC and a trained K9 handler who works alongside her husband and business partner, Brandon Clark. Kristie received her K9 handler training directly from Brandon, developing her skills through hands-on instruction and practical experience with working dogs.
Her training includes K9 handling, obedience, canine behavior, proper handling techniques, and the care and management of working dogs. She has learned to recognize changes in canine behavior and body language, properly work and control a K9, and build the clear communication and trust necessary between a handler and dog.
As a co-owner of FIST K9 Detection, Kristie plays an important role in the training, handling, care, and operation of the company's K9s. Her involvement also helps make FIST K9 Detection a truly family-operated business built around a shared commitment to professional K9 training.
Together, Brandon and Kristie Clark operate FIST K9 Detection, LLC, bringing a hands-on, practical approach to developing working dogs and helping families build confident, obedient, and reliable companions.
Kristie's approach follows the same principles at the foundation of FIST K9 Detection: consistency, clear communication, proper handling, accountability, and building a strong relationship between the dog and handler.
Brandon Clark, FIST K9
Brandon Clark is a co-owner and Head Trainer of FIST K9 Detection, LLC and a U.S. Army combat veteran with a professional background built around discipline, security, and working dogs. He served with the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, completing a 14-month deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2007 through May 2008.
Following his military service, Brandon continued working in high-security environments, spending approximately 8½ years as a federal correctional officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. That experience strengthened his understanding of security operations, situational awareness, risk assessment, and the importance of dependable performance under pressure.
In 2020, Brandon entered the professional K9 industry by completing the Patrol/Detector Dog Trainer’s Course at American K9 Interdiction. Since then, he has continued developing his experience through hands-on training and operational K9 work involving narcotics detection, explosives detection, firearms detection, tracking, obedience, patrol and personal-protection dogs, and puppy development.
Brandon has worked K9 detection assignments in a variety of real-world environments, including industrial and critical-infrastructure sites, drug rehabilitation facilities, music festivals and concerts, amusement parks, public venues, and large-scale events. His operational experience includes working narcotics-detection K9s as well as explosives-detection K9s in environments where safety, accuracy, and professionalism are essential.
Through FIST K9 Detection, LLC, Brandon brings that real-world experience into every dog he trains. Whether developing a working K9, addressing obedience and behavioral issues, or helping a family build a better relationship with their dog, his training philosophy emphasizes clear communication, consistency, confidence, accountability, and results that carry over into the real world.
For Brandon, K9 training is not simply about getting a dog to perform commands—it is about developing a reliable partnership between the dog and handler that works when it matters.
FIST K9 Detection, LLC was built by husband-and-wife owners Brandon and Kristie Clark with a shared commitment to professional K9 training, dependable detection work, and real-world results.
Brandon brought his background as a U.S. Army combat veteran, former federal correctional officer, professional K9 handler, and trainer into the foundation of the company. Kristie trained under Brandon and developed into a K9 handler herself, becoming an integral part of the company's training, handling, and day-to-day operations.
Together, Brandon and Kristie have built FIST K9 Detection around the belief that effective K9 work requires more than simply training a dog to perform a task. It requires clear communication, consistency, proper handling, strong fundamentals, and a relationship of trust between the dog and handler.
Today, FIST K9 Detection provides professional K9 detection and dog training services, drawing from hands-on experience with working dogs in real-world environments. From detection and working-dog development to obedience and family-pet training, the goal remains the same: develop confident, reliable dogs and capable handlers through training that produces results where they matter most—in the real world.
